Purpose of the Role
The incumbent will have the responsibility to deliver quality and sustainable water and waste water treatment services and solutions to our clients.
Job Duties
- Layout design of water works (water and/or wastewater treatment works)
- Technical supervision of operational water/wastewater treatment plants
- Conduct process audit of existing water and wastewater treatment plants
- Pilot trials of water and waste water processes
- Conduct site assessment with the aim of selecting appropriate water and/or waste water solutions
- Preparation of reports, P&I diagram, control philosophy detailing of findings and recommendations of the above assessments
- Literature review
- Select appropriate technology based on site specification conditions and requirements
- Consult with clients regarding appropriate treatment options
- Design and costing of preferred treatment plant
- Preparation of proposals
- Technical /tender support
- Troubleshooting during commissioning, processing and plant operations
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience / Minimum Requirements
- BEng or similar degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering. Must be professionally registered as PR Eng with ECSA
- Minimum 10 years in water and waste water treatment related to municipal services. Must have process design experience working in projects covering municipal services mainly water and wastewater treatment
- Legal knowledge: Employee Equity Act, Labour Relations Act, OHS Act, Design compliance standards, Blue Drop and Green Drop
- Software: MS Office, MS Project, Biowin /simio/GPSX or similar
- Quality Management: ISO 9000 compliance
- Language proficiency: Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Travel: Occasional travel to site, intercontinental and internationally
- Driver’s license: essential

Salary: To be negotiated (inclusive of benefits) depending on relevance and duration of experience.

Travel: Occasional travel to site, intercontinentally and internationally.
