Purpose of the Role

Job Duties

As an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer in Training, the candidate will be responsible of their own training through ensuring that all activities are accomplished as set out on the training program given to them. The candidate will be required and expected to be involved throughout all the design stages of a project and understanding project phases up to implementation and commissioning of a project. The candidate will be expected to compile a report in ECSA format, prepare and perform a power point presentation in six monthly basis.

The candidate is expected to submit his/her ECSA professional registration report at the end of the training period.

Responsibilities / Duties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical consulting service to our clients while training.
  • Produce and integrates engineering solutions/ designs for assert creation on behalf of customers at various stages of a project life cycle.
  • Attending courses on relevant subjects.
  • Attend to all assigned tasks by mentor.

 PEOPLE SKILLS

  • Candidate must have palatable attitude towards other people.
  • Must work well within a team.
  • Must be able to communicate with all team members, clients and service providers to communicate ideas, troubleshoot and propose solutions.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Personal:
    • Engage in activities which contribute to his/her line of career for continuous career development.
    • Responsible for on-going informal and formal development to improve knowledge base and personal abilities, skill and capacity in all areas of work.
  • Team:
    • Participate on document control and administrative best practise to ensure smooth running of operations.
  • Company:
    • Participate in any contractor development, enterprise and supplier development.

Qualifications & Experience / Minimum Requirements

  • BSc. or BEng. in Electrical Light Current or Electronics Engineering
  • Legal Knowledge: Employee Equity Act, Labour Relations Act, OHS Act and Design compliance standards
  • Graduate experience
  • Software:  Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and any Engineering design software
  • Quality Management:  ISO 9000 compliance
  • Language proficiency:  Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Travel: Occasional travel to site , intercontinental and internationally
  • Driver’s license:  essential
  • Contractual/spokesperson Authority:  No

Salary: Monthly Stipend

Reports to: Engineer

Travel: Occasional site visits
